For those who would like to work with both brains and hands the colourful world of floral arrangements can be an excellent choice. The ‘Groenhorst College’ courses train their students in making professional and creative floral designs for a diversity of both festive, religious and sad occasions.

DUTCH FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS, DFA

DFA 1 = practical course

DFA 2 = theoretical and practical course

 

The DFA course is a training in floral design for:
those who work in a florist shop or in a gardencentre or plan to do so and who want to learn designing and making floral arrangements on a high and professional level. those who want to learn designing and making floral arrangements on a high and professional level and are also interested in the theoretical background. The theory of shape, composition and colour in floral art and knowledge regarding plants and plant materials.

The course consist of the modules:

•  Table decorations

•  Bridal bouquets

•  Funeral and mourning arrangements

•  Hand bound bouquets

•  Vase and plate arrangements.

The application of various techniques is important, e.g.:

•  wire technique

•  pinning technique

•  arranging technique

•  gluing technique

NAt the end of the two years course you can go up for the exam, conducted by the Dutch Flower Association.

 

ADVANCED DUTCH FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS ADFA

ADFA 1 = practical course

ADFA 2 = theoretical and practical course

 

A DFA certificate is required for those who want to attend the ADFA course and deepen their professional skills:

•  Actual trends in floral design

•  New trends in techniques

•  Application of new materials are focal points in this training.

Historical interior styles in combinations with matching historical floral styles in another raised subject in this training course.

 

TRAINING MASTER FLORAL DESIGNER

Part A = technical section

Part B = innovative section

 

In this training, open for those who passed their ADFA exams, the topics are:

•  designing complex and extraordinary

•  floral arrangements

•  special technics

•  calculation and promotion

•  developing new trends and techniques in floral art

•  researching historical flower arrangements.
